ROME - AC Milan have baulked at Parma's asking price for their highly rated striker Alberto Gilardino. Milan, who finished second in Serie A and lost the Champions League final to Liverpool after a penalty shoot-out, were hoping to snap up the 22-year-old Italy international this week but their bid has fallen way short of Parma's valuation. "Gilardino wants to come to Milan and we want him here, but there is a great difference between bid and offer," Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani said Wednesday. Gilardino, whose goal in the Serie A relegation play-off against Bologna helped Parma stay up, was the league's second highest scorer with 23 goals.
