It has been a good Christmas for Aston Villa, scoring goals from all areas, but
I cannot see them taking anything here. Arsenal had a good result at Charlton,
dismantled Portsmouth on Wednesday, and their key players are in good form.

Charlton v West Ham (0 : 1/4) Result 2:0
I think this will be a high-tempo, hot-tempered derby. I can see red cards
coming out in this game, especially given the amount of mistakes that referees
are making at the moment. People talk about too many games over Christmas and
new year for players, but the sheer volume of fixtures affects referees as
well. Referees suffer from mental as well as physical fatigue and if you look
at the recent fixtures there have been mistakes all over the place. The fact
that Charlton's match against Newcastle on Wednesday was postponed will be a
big help to Alan Curbishley's team.
Verdict: 2-1 Win

Chelsea v Birmingham (0 : 1 3/4) Result 2:0
I see this as being another regulation three points for Chelsea. They have not
been playing particularly well but Jose Mourinho, with such a strong squad, can
change his side to his advantage during the course of a game - and generally
does so. People talk about the title race and whether Chelsea will drop points
but they hardly ever seem to draw games let alone lose. They so remind me of
the Liverpool of old, the team in the 1980s that I played in - quite often not
playing well but keeping a clean sheet and winning 1-0. Birmingham had a good
result against Manchester United, showing a little bit more aggression, but are
not strong enough to cope with Chelsea.
Verdict: 2-0 Win 1/2

Tottenham v Newcastle (0 : 1/4) Result 2:0
I expect an attacking game. Newcastle can only play one way - and that is going
forward. The more I see Newcastle the more I realise that Shay Given is their
best player and has been for the last couple of seasons. At Liverpool the other
day they had a midfield of Albert Luque, Charles N'Zogbia, Lee Bowyer and Amdy
Faye. Of these only Faye is an out-and-out ball-winner and I think that they
might have reached the conclusion that they should go out to attack teams
because they are going to concede anyway. I fancy teams to score against them
at will.
Verdict: 3-1 Win

Liverpool v West Brom (0 : 1 1/2) Result 1:0
I think that Liverpool will make it 10 consecutive Premiership wins. They have
got every area of the team right - the movement is very good, they are creating
chances from all areas and Steven Gerrard is unstoppable at the moment. They
are on a brilliant run, but as a side will be judged on their performances over
at least one or two seasons. Liverpool lost 14 Premiership games last season,
but have been superb so far this campaign.
Verdict: 3-0 Lose

Man Utd v Bolton (0 : 1) Result 4:1
Bolton have a good record at Old Trafford and have had a less intense period of
fixtures following the postponement of their match on Wednesday. That said, I
don't think they will take anything from this game. Manchester United might
have showed their soft centre in conceding a late equaliser at Birmingham but I
expect them to win at home. Wayne Rooney and Ruud van Nistelrooy are one of the
best strike partnerships around - it is just a case of making sure they have
enough supply.
Verdict: 2-0 Win

Middlesbrough v Man City (0 : 1/4) Result 0:0
I'm never quite sure what to expect from Middlesbrough. They are going through
a bad patch at the moment and are missing the injured George Boateng.
Manchester City's match at Wigan on Boxing Day could have finished 10-9. Stuart
Pearce clearly ensured that his team had tightened up at the back against
Chelsea, but this seemed to be at the expense of their attacking options.
Verdict: 1-1 Right prediction

Portsmouth v Fulham (0 : 1/4) Result 1:0
It was noticeable that Pompey boss Harry Redknapp rested several players
against Arsenal who many would have expected to start. Clearly, Redknapp has
identified his games and he will be desperate to win this one. Pompey were
noticeably more aggressive and physical in their home games against West Brom
and West Ham. They will clearly try and make the most of their games at Fratton
Park. Fulham were unlucky at Chelsea and took the lead three times against
Villa. They have started scoring, but as their 3-3 draw with Villa shows, they
have also started conceding.
Verdict: 1-0 Absolute
mrpotterxp pick = Fulham tidak jelek man Lose

Lilo2708 pick = Fulham Lose

Sunderland v Everton (0 : 0) Result 0:1
The problem for Sunderland is that they do not seem able to really trouble
Everton where they are most vulnerable - at the back. David Weir and Joseph
Yobo are all over the place at the moment. I think this could well be an
uninspiring draw, which might not be a bad result for either side. When you
keep losing and conceding lots of goals it is important to stop the rot - and
David Moyes is desperate for that to happen at Everton.
Verdict: 1-1 Lose
mrpotterxp pick = Sunderland Lose
Hermanbulu pick = Everton Win
Candu pick = Everton Win
Lilo2708 pick = Everton, jika mental bagus Win

Wigan v Blackburn (0 : 1/4) Result 0:3
Henri Camara and Jason Roberts can be a real handful. Over the last three or
four games they have caused the opposition numerous problems. In the previous
five we did not really see that much of them but if Paul Jewell can keep them
fit and scoring there is no reason why Wigan cannot stay where they are in the
table. I expect a feisty game against Wigan and I would not be surprised if
players saw red.
Verdict: 2-1
mrpotterxp pick = Super Wigan Lose
