Parry blast for Kop fans

LIVERPOOL chief executive Rick Parry has blasted his own supporters for their
unacceptable behaviour towards Manchester United.
Kop fans taunted Uniteds Alan Smith over breaking his leg, attacked the
ambulance taking him to hospital and directed vile chants at Gary Neville
during last months FA Cup clash at Anfield.
Parry insisted: It was unacceptable and we will not shy away from saying so.
No excuses from us.
There was behaviour on the day that was not acceptable from some Liverpool
fans and not just related to Alan Smith.
Parry also slammed the foul-mouthed Kop chants against Neville, who
controversially celebrated in front of Liverpool fans at Old Trafford in
January, and songs about the Munich air disaster.
He said: We have to utterly condemn any Munich songs or offensive gestures.
Some of the chanting against Gary Neville, regardless of his previous
behaviour, was also near the knuckle.
It strikes home when you look round and see youngsters in the crowd who are
asking their parents what its all about.
We pride ourselves on having a fantastic reputation across the world.
On occasions, when we fall short, we have to stand up and be counted. Its
simply out of order.
We cannot justify any actions by what might have happened on the other side.
People can talk about provocation but you still cant accept it.
