Tadinya MU punya 5 striker (Rooney, Saha, Smith, Rossi, Ole). Smith
dah lama ga maen jd striker. Ole pun abis cedera lama. Sekarang Rossi
dipinjemin. Striker MU sisa 4.
Saya ga ngarti maksudnya SAF. Mungkin karena SAF terlalu jenius jadi
strateginya malah susah dimengerti.

Rossi to join Newcastle on loan

The Guardian
Giuseppe Rossi is expected to join Newcastle United on loan from
Manchester United today. Sir Alex Ferguson has spent the past 48 hours
weighing up requests from Newcastle, Blackburn Rovers and West
Bromwich Albion to borrow the 19-year-old striker and has seemingly
decided Rossi will fare best under Glenn Roeder's management.
During a conversation with Ferguson this week Roeder stressed his
excellent record in developing young players such as Joe Cole, Michael
Carrick and Jermain Defoe at West Ham United, and he has apparently
persuaded Ferguson to do business. The only thing that could prompt a
last-minute change of heart is any concerns Ferguson may harbour about
being left with only four strikers: Louis Saha, Wayne Rooney, Ole
Gunnar Solskjaer and Alan Smith.
Although Ferguson, who was initially unsure whether to allow his
fifth-choice striker to leave Old Trafford at the end of a summer
which has seen the departure of Ruud van Nistelrooy, did not relish
having to say no to Mark Hughes at Blackburn and Bryan Robson at West
Brom, two of his former players who had also requested the player on
loan, he was impressed by Roeder's plans for Rossi.
The New Jersey-born Italy Under-21 international made five appearances
for United last season, scoring one goal, but it is not clear whether
he will be joining Newcastle on a six-month or a season-long loan. At
the end of a summer which began with Alan Shearer's retirement and
featured a serious injury to Michael Owen, Roeder will be praying the
Rossi deal is finalised as anticipated.
With Shola Ameobi likely to be sidelined for between one and two
months with a long-term hip injury Newcastle's manager is desperate to
recruit another striker to play alongside Obafemi Martins, the recent
£10m signing from Internazionale.
Roeder approached Middlesbrough on Tuesday in an attempt to sign Mark
Viduka, who is in the final year of his Riverside contract and was
understood to be interested in a move to Tyneside. But Gareth
Southgate, Boro's manager, proved resistant to the idea.
Although the clubs tentatively discussed the possibility of a
part-exchange deal involving Viduka for James Milner plus cash, such a
proposal appeared dead in the water last night when Keith Lamb, Boro's
chief executive, insisted: "Mark Viduka will be staying with us."
Although Roeder would ideally like to acquire a powerful target man in
the Viduka mould - to partner Martins - he may turn his attentions to
Preston's smaller but nevertheless useful striker David Nugent if Boro
refuse to release the Australian centre-forward. Nugent is available -
but only for a fee of £5m-plus.
