Soccer legend Zoff mugged in Rome Monday, November 06, 2006
Dino Zoff, Italy's 1982 World Cup winning captain, suffered a blow to the
face while trying to defend himself from muggers in Rome, a television
report said Monday.
Four muggers attacked the 64-year-old former goalkeeper while he was taking
a stroll with his wife near the Olympic Stadium here Sunday evening, Sky
Italia television reported.
The couple attempted to resist but eventually surrendered their watches,
mobile phones and about 1,000 euros ($1,270).
'It was nothing serious,' Zoff said.
