Getafe fans in repeat racist abuse incident 12 January 2007
A section of Getafe fans chanted racist abuse at Valencia's Portuguese
fullback Miguel during their King's Cup last 16 first leg match on Wednesday
10th January.
Match stopped
The referee stopped the match in the second half and asked the club to put out
an announcement in the stadium asking for fans to stop making the noises,
Spanish media reported.
Getafe made an appeal on the public address system and put a message up on the
scoreboard.
"The fans in Getafe in general are very good but among them there are a few
idiots,"Quique Sanchez Flores said after the game, which ended 1-1.
Regular occurrence
"This thing happens in nearly all the stadiums but you always hear too much
from these few idiots."
Last season Getafe were fined 3,000 euros by the Spanish Football Federation
after fans made racist chants at Barcelona's Cameroon striker Samuel Eto'o,
following a derisory 600 euros punishment after a similar incident with Eto'o
the previous season.

Tension remains between Zoro and Inter fans 18 December 2006
Everyone will remember the terrible racist incident at the Serie A clash
between Messina and Inter Milan at the San Filippo Stadium in Messina just over
a year ago (27 November 2005) when the home side's Ivorian defender Marc Zoro
attempted to leave the field after being subjected to repeated racist abuse by
travelling Inter fans.
And at last Sunday's game between the two sides at the San Siro, which Inter
won 2-0, Zoro was targeted once again by various sections of the home crowd. In
addition, a despicable banner appeared in the Inter end bearing the following
message: "Zoro infame. Il razzismo non รจ un ululato ma i lamenti di un invasato"
Zoro spoke plainly after the final whistle: "The Inter fans disgust me, he
said. I always lose the game when I come to the San Siro but I win against
those who lost their match with life long ago." (Zoro is a disgrace: racism is
not wailing, but the lament of an obsessive). His every ball contact was
greeted by constant whistling, jeering and booing.
