Sayang juga nih subyek tentang rusuh Catania vs
Palermo akhirnya berkembang menjadi "flame" basi yang
ujung-ujungnya "ngotot-ngototan" liga terbaik, malah
ngawur lari ke Heysel segala.

Anyway, melanjutkan berita tentang Catania vs Palermo:

Italian football may make return:

Italian football could restart on Sunday, according to
Luca Pancalli, commissioner of the Italian Federation.
Serie A and B clubs meet on Tuesday to discuss a
government proposal to close stadiums deemed unsafe
for fans.

But Italian Interior Minister Giuliano Amato has told
parliament he will resist pressure to resume matches
until he is sure safety standards are met.

On Monday, the interior minister said stadiums that do
not meet security standards will not be allowed to
admit fans. "We will not allow fans to go into a
stadium that does not respect the current safety
norms," he said.

"Hence, only those stadiums that meet the security
norms will re-open to the fans, the other stadiums
will be used to play in but without fans until they
meet guidelines.

It is understood that only five stadiums in Italy are
currently acceptable in both Serie A and Serie B - the
Stadio Olimpico in Rome, the Artemio Franchi in Siena,
the Stadio Olimpico in Turin, Renzo Barbera in Palermo
and Bologna's Renato Dall'Ara.

Other grounds, such as the San Siro in Milan, do not
fall far short of the guidelines which would allow
fans to enter the stadium.

An estimated £9.9m (15m euros) is lost by halting a
day's games in Italian football.

Other proposals included forcing clubs to adopt
stricter anti-hooligan measures by the start of next
season.

The president of the Italian Olympic Committee (CONI)
Gianni Petrucci said if clubs did not agree to the new
guidelines - which would see more controls imposed on
tickets and an increase in use of closed circuit
cameras - they would not be able to host games.

musim kompetisi 2007/2008. Dari berita di atas, baru
ada 5 stadion di Italia yang memenuhi persyaratan
keamanan (San Siro termasuk yg belum memenuhi
persyaratan, pro Rudy, ini gak nge"flame" nih). Kalo
gak memenuhi syarat keamanan, main tanpa penonton atau
di stadion lain. Ini beritanya:

Coni and Figc united in the fight against violence. A
package of initiatives and new rules to contrast the
violence emergency in the stadium was examined this
morning during the extraordinary meeting of the Coni
Committee: apart form the measures of the Pisanu
decree, additions include the commitment made by the
FIGC to anticipate to the upcoming sports season,
meaning starting from the next league season, the
release of license to the clubs only for the
facilities that are compliant with the safety rules
and regulation. This was announced during the press
conference by the Coni president, Petrucci and the
extraordinary commissioner of the FIGC, Pancalli.

These are the proposals agreed upon with the FIGC and
summed up by the general secretary of Coni, Pagnozzi:
"in the first place, the institution of a federal
organism that gives licenses to the various stadiums,
as already foreseen by the new FIGC statute, but
anticipating this starting from the 2007/2008 season.

The clubs that do not have the license will have to go
play in other cities or behind closed doors. The
second point is the application of sports justice even
for events occurring in the so-called riserved area,
meaning outside of the stadiums. And last but not
least, the commitment to break off any negative
relations between the clubs, players, managers and
fans".

Problem hooligan memang susah dihilangkan dari
sepakbola. Akhir pekan ini, pertandingan liga Brazil
antara Cruzeiro vs Atletico Mineiro juga diwarnai
kekerasan antara penonton dan aparat polisi. Sementara
Rebel". Klub2 di Meksiko, sepengetahuan gue, memiliki
paling sedikit 2 sampe 3 kelompok suporter, satu
diantaranya umumnya bisa dikategorikan garis keras.
mereka2 ini yg biasanya jadi biang kerok huru-hara.

*say no to hooliganism*
