*Berlusconi eyes 'Dinho* Monday 26 February, 2007
  ------------------------------
President Silvio Berlusconi has confirmed that Milan are in pole position
to sign Ronaldinho if Barcelona decide to sell the Brazilian star.

The Rossoneri have made no secret of the fact that the Brazilian is one of
their summer targets, after transfer consultant Ernesto Bronzetti was
appointed to contact the player's brother and agent Roberto Assis in the
past few weeks.

Vice-President Adriano Galliani had also publicly admitted that the
Rossoneri were ready to start negotiations with the Spanish giants, as all
conversations to extend the player's deal with the Blaugrana until 2014 had
stalled so far.

"I believe we would be ready to make a move if Barcelona were to sell
Ronaldinho," confirmed Berlusconi to La Domenica Sportiva after Sunday's win
over Sampdoria at the San Siro.

"He is a great player, although we would obviously need to understand what
his effect would be on the opponents and his teammates. Even with him on the
team, tonight we would have had some problems. Luck plays a great part in
football."

The former Prime Minister also declared that Milan have targeted Gianluigi
Buffon and could make an offer to Juventus, seeing the latest rumours
suggesting that Nelson Dida has agreed a free transfer to Barcelona.

"Buffon is an excellent goalkeeper and we are definitely interested in his
services if we will fail to renew Dida's deal," explained the Rossonero, as
the Brazilian's contract expires on June 30 and talks to extend have been
unsuccessful so far.

"Dida cannot believe that Milan are willing to pay him more than what has
been agreed for with other champions, like Kaka," concluded Berlusconi.

The Rossoneri have a strict salary policy that cannot be changed and the
Rossoneri have always stated that Dida could not earn more than the other
champions on the squad, despite him being a top level player.
