Liverpool 0-1 Man Utd
 Premiership – March 2007

The sight of Man Utd players celebrating at the Anfield Road end will stick in
the throats of Kopites everywhere for a good while yet, and all after a game
the Reds totally dominated. The defeat came as a result of a last-minute hit
from John O'Shea after Pepe Reina could only parry a Cristiano Ronaldo
free-kick.

 Liverpool 1-0 Man Utd
FA Cup fifth round – February 2006

Peter Crouch directed a Steve Finnan cross into the bottom right-hand corner
of Edwin van der Sar's net on 18 minutes to leave the Mancs with just the
League Cup to play for. Afterwards Alex Ferguson suggested Rafa's side produced
only five minutes of football - in reality the Reds overpowered his limp
midfield and thoroughly deserved their first FA Cup win over United for 85
years.

 Liverpool 0-0 Man Utd
 Premiership – September 2005

A high-noon showdown in which goalmouth action was at a premium and Peter
Crouch was denied the kind of service which would help him break his Liverpool
duck. Skipper Steven Gerrard forced Edwin Van der Sar into a fine save at the
Kop end but no-one could complain at the final score. The result made it four
straight clean sheets for Pepe Reina.

 Liverpool 0-1 Man Utd
 Premiership – January 2005

Fernando Morientes had scored in each of his five pro debuts prior to this
match, a stat which ushered a wave of optimism around Anfield as the Spaniard
donned a red shirt for the first time. The hosts created 12 chances but in
truth never really troubled Roy Carroll in the visitors' net. At the other end
Jerzy Dudek was disappointed at conceding a soft goal to Wayne Rooney -
United's sole shot on target. Wes Brown was sent for an early bath after
earning two yellow cards as things got fiery. There were no excuses from Rafa,
though. The gaffer refused to be drawn afterwards on two legitimate penalty
shouts – first when Phil Neville handled a John Arne Riise cross and again when
Gabriel Heinze chopped Fernando in the box.

 Liverpool 1-2 Man Utd
 Premiership – November 2003

A second-half double from Ryan Giggs consigned the Reds to a fifth league
defeat after just three months of what proved to be Gerard Houllier's last
season at Anfield. The fact the Welshman's first effort was intended as a cross
made it even harder for the home faithful to swallow. Still, Tim Howard
(brought to Old Trafford to replace the ailing Fabien Barthez the previous
summer) was fairly redundant until Harry Kewell bagged a consolation 16 minutes
from time. The result left the Red half of Liverpool contemplating a 13-point
hike to the top of the table.
