JAILANI LEADS INDONESIA FOR FABULOUS WIN OVER ENGLAND
KUALA LUMPUR (30 Jan 2008) – Indonesia made sure they avoided finishing at
the bottom of Group A in the KL Word 5s when they thumped England 7-2 here
at the Stadium Negara in Kuala Lumpur.

Indonesia's Jaelani Ladjanibi (No.6 in red) against England's Shane Gill (
No.11 in white)
And while there were plenty of reasons why Indonesia deserved to be
victorious on the day, there was no denying that much of the accolade for
the win should go to the wizardry of pint-sized striker Jailani Ladjanibi,
who almost single-handedly destroyed the Three Lions.

"This is definitely our best game thus far and we have managed to make sure
that we avoid finishing at the bottom of the group," said Indonesia head
coach Justinus Lhasksana during the post-match media conference.

"It was not easy coming into the game with one of our keeper suspended but I
was ready to play even without the reserve keeper which was what happened.
Luckily for us Sayan (Karmadi) had always been game playing between the
posts, so we just continued playing."

While Indonesia came into the match at the back of a disappointing 3-2 loss
to hosts Malaysia, England had to set aside their humiliation after being
whitewashed by Argentina 12-1 the previous day.

England's Leigh Holbrook (No.5 in white) against Indonesia's Jaelani
Ladjanibi (No.6 in red)
And while they did come close in the opening quarter off Ashley Allanson,
that was to be their only impression in the first half as Jailani and Co.
ran riot to score three goals before the half-time break for the 3-0 lead.

Jailani nailed a double with goals in the ninth and 19th minute, while Sukma
Nagara added the third goal of the afternoon in the 20th minute.

England started stronger into the second half when captain Richard Follett
slammed home a rebounder but Jailani's show of individualism shone through
to see Indonesia add four goals off Angga Suryasaputra (23rd minute), Deny
Handono (24th and 35th) and Beny Hera (37th).

Luke Ballinger scored the second goal for England a minute to the end for
the final score.

"I am disappointed obviously with how things have turned out," added Graeme
Dell, the head coach for England. "But more importantly the players know
that they could have done a lot better than what they showed today."
