Kick Off! to introduce A.C. Milan Junior in Singapore
15 April 2008, Singapore – Kick Off! has established themselves to help
Singapore realise the “Singapore Sports Excellence Vision”. A sports
company committed to contributing to Singapore’s sporting scene, Kick
Off! aims to establish soccer schools and events in Singapore and the
South East Asia region.
This is a first-time initiative in Singapore, of a company partnering
premier Italian soccer league clubs to create soccer training facilities
and curriculum to cultivate young talents.
“We chose Singapore to establish our base within the region, as there is
a strong interest and following of the sport here” said Roberto
Cartelli, Director for Kick Off!. “We see a lot of potential for growth
with the enthusiastic support we’ve received from the various sports
authorities as well as the planned investment in the creation of
world-class facilities will make it easier to establish a soccer school
and events” said Cartelli.
“We are here today in Singapore because we strongly believe in this
great country's potential for development in the world of football. The
young individuals competing at the Milan Junior Camp will get the
opportunity to train using the methods of A.C. Milan's official
technical staff," stated Daniele Massaro, AC Milan Ambassador in the
World. "If we notice any kids with particular talent during the event,
we will access his capabilities and offer the opportunity to join the
Rossoneri big family” concluded the footballer, who was Milan's highest
goal scorer in the 1994 Champions League. (Full profile in Appendix B)
This partnership is with one of Italy’s top soccer team, AC Milan. Kick
Off! will complete the investigation steps for bringing in activities
under the AC Milan Youth Development Programme, which include the Milan
Junior Camp and Milan Park.

For over a century, A.C. Milan has been synonymous with football,
entertainment, excitement, and success: the "Rossoneri" team leads the
world in the number of international trophies it can boast, and for the
second year in a row has been ranked by FIFA the first football club in
the world. Since its foundation in 1899, AC Milan has won 17 Italian
league championships, 7 Champions’ League, 3 Intercontinental cups, 1
FIFA Club World Cup, 5 European Supercups, 5 Italian Supercups, 5
Italian Cup, and 2 Cup Winners’ cups.
Having created clear directions for each business unit, AC Milan has
shown its management capabilities of running a successful team through
the Milan Academy; a contributor to communities through the development
and promotion of the sport under the Milan Foundation; and the research
and development of soccer medicine through the Milan Lab.
Kick Off! will introduce the Milan Junior Camp and the Milan Park as the
first two projects in their partnership with AC Milan.

MILAN JUNIOR CAMP
The Milan Junior Camp is a 5 day soccer skills course open to children
between the ages of 6 – 15 and is open to both soccer players and
non-soccer players. Participants will be grouped according to ages as
well as existing level of soccer playing skills. From there, each group
will go through a curriculum, specifically designed by AC Milan expert
coaches and doctors. The training curriculum will cover technical and
tactical training, athletic conditioning as well as technical
application in game situations (Full details in Appendix A). Each year,
the Milan Junior Camp attracts more than 15,000 participants in 37
countries and the best player from each camp will be sent to Milan
Junior Camp Day in Italy and play in friendly matches with other ‘MJC
Best Player’ from all over the world, attend a Serie A match and meet
the AC Milan players.
To co-ordinate the technicalities with AC Milan, former Singapore
National player, Aide Iskandar, has joined Kick Off! as the Technical
Director who will work closely with AC Milan. (Full profile in Appendix C)
“We have a very large group of soccer enthusiasts in Singapore including
many young children. Most of them start playing at a young age and when
they start school, they train with their schools. By bringing in Milan
Junior Camp, we hope to identify talents and train them so that they may
one day realise their dreams of becoming a professional football player.
Currently there is a lack of opportunities for training at professional
level for young children. By bringing in Milan Junior Camp, we hope to
open this opportunity to as many children as possible” said Iskandar.
Kick Off! intends to give every child the chance at realising their
aspirations and dreams by facilitating the garnering of sponsors to
co-organise Milan Junior Camps for under-privileged children and
charitable organisations.

MILAN PARK
The Milan Park is a soccer themed entertainment park offering an
‘edu-taining’ experience for the entire family. Park features will
engage visitors in honing their football skills and expanding their
knowledge about the sport.
Expected to run for over a period of 2 -3 days, Milan Park will consists
of mostly inflatable structures where visitors can try their hand at
playing different positions within a team: goal keeper, striker, shooter
etc. The park is divided into four main areas that cater to visitors of
all ages (Full details in Appendix C).

The cup is on display in the lobby of the hotel for 3 days:
15 April 9am – 8pm
16 April 9am – 8pm
17 April 9am – 2pm
Kick Off!’s immediate plans are to manage a minimum of 12 Milan Junior
Camps in years 2008 and 2009, expecting approximately 750 – 800
participants to the 5-day camp.
In addition, there are also plans for Milan Park to be held over a 2-3
day period in the year 2008. “Milan Park will allow families and
children in Singapore a taste of the football world through exciting
sports and recreational activities”, stated Daniele Massaro.
