Effenberg Writes Off Spain
Former Bayern Munich star Stefan Effenberg believes Spain have no chance
against the Italians when both teams clash on Sunday for a place in the
semi finals.
Luis Aragones' side go into Sunday's quarter final as favourites to beat
Italy following their brilliant start to the European Championship.
Italy have failed to impress so far and their chances against La Furia
Roja look slim given their problems in defence and in midfield.
However, Effenberg has completely written off Aragones' side's chances
of success and he is confident that La Nazionale will conquer the
Spanish Armada.
“I have no doubt's that the Italians will beat Spain,” Effenberg told Marca.
“Spain have a great team but they are lacking the final blow. We will
have to wait and see if they surprise us.”
Luis Aragones is only too aware that he mustn't judge a book by its cover.
The Italians look poor on the pitch but they can turn any game around if
they suddenly explode into form.
Donadoni has his own concerns in midfield as Rino Gattuso and Andrea
Pirlo will be watching the Spain game from the bench following their one
match suspension for picking up successive yellow cards.
