So, it being midnight here, I shall share this really wierd thing
before I go to sleep.

I was editing my side bar, when suddenly the 'main' div stopped being
in the expected place, and was instead appended to the end of the
'side' div. This was true for all pages, making them quite hard to
edit, and harder still to read.

It turned out that the problem was cured by removing [t] tags, which I
had added way back to quick fix problems with the bullet markup before
this was fixed permanently in the core. These had never been a problem
until now. The only change i did was changing some code inside a
search function. Oh! And actually, this probably meant that the whole
thing read:

[t]
... blah blah blah ...
**
[t]

Lookit that: Somewhere to start when i'm not too tired to type.
Lookit that: Possible problems with the bullets! I know someone who
loves problems with bullets.

I really don't like the idea of being able to destroy layout by
writing something in the page, so I'm going to spend some time trying
to reproduce this bug or feature and hopefully document it.

If anyone has any info that may spead that process up, i'd appreciate
it.

The problem is cured though, so it's no hurry.
