Hello all, In August, Linly suggested slogans for BoltWire:
<< BoltWire: the wiki based web engine BoltWire: new generation wiki for building website BoltWire: the easiest wiki engine to build web applications BoltWire: the wiki based CMS, blog, forum and website engine >> (http://groups.google.com/group/boltwire/browse_thread/thread/ 2e5ea91718ac5096) I have just remembered that interesting discussion because I'm finishing my first website with BoltWire and I feel its most important and impressive feature is that it's not only a CMS but an engine to make your own CMS! I have used other CMSs and all of them have many things that can not be changed. You have to accept them --- and hope the developers will change them in future versions. I mean not only features but also the interface, both backend and frontend. Of course you could study the code and customize it, but in practice it's impossible because of its huge size and complexity. While using BoltWire to create this website for other person, I have discovered that I don't have to reconcile myself to explain her how she has to manage the website because the CMS works that strange way, or the CMS lacks that feature, or the CMS shows those useless buttons... Instead, I have used BoltWire to create a tailor-made CMS to do just what she needs (not more, not less) with a fully customized management interface (what is almost impossible to be changed in many CMSs). I don't know how the concept "build your own CMS" could be turned into a proper slogan. The word "CMS" itself is too technical, not good for a slogan. I think this is a task for English native speakers... But I dare to ask Sinatra for a clue: I planned each charted course; Each careful step along the byway, But more, much more than this, I did it my way. :-) Anyway the slogan is not the important point. I only wanted to share these new thoughts about the BoltWire's essence and encourage some discussion.
