I wanted to assign styles to all buttons so I had to add "class='button'" to all [submit], because [submit] creates an <input type="submit"> and, as far as I know, there's no way to assign an style to a "type" attribute. After finishing the task I searched for some XHTML info and I discovered there's already an element for buttons:
http://xhtml.com/en/xhtml/reference/button/ I have seen BOLTMinputs is quite complex. At first sight It seems all <input>s (text and buttons) are created at the end: default : return $lb . BOLTescape("<input type='$type' $attr />"); It seems <button> could be implemented adding something like this before the default case: case 'submit' : return $lb . BOLTescape("<button type='submit' $attr >".$arg ['value'].'</button>'); case 'reset' : return $lb . BOLTescape("<button type='reset' $attr />".$arg ['value'].'</button>'); case 'button' : return $lb . BOLTescape("<button type='button' $attr />".$arg ['value'].'</button>'); I tried and it works, but anyhow I'm sure more work would be nedeed (I think the value argument is duplicated in that code). Using <button> makes it easy to assign styles to buttons without touching the forms, so I suggest to explore this for a future release. Last, a minor detail: I suggest to exchange double quotes for single quotes in the case structure's values, it's a bit faster because no internal parsing is done in the string.
