Hi Martin, and rest, if any :) Earlier i was developing a site on joomla, i mainly needed two things a blog and a wiki. Joomla is not natively design to do this, but it is possible with some joomla plugins. And those plugins are not 100% effective. I needed a blog for usual tech/non-tech/social/time-pass/... topics. And the wiki for proper technical articles. And was also thinking about using wiki for my personal-pet projects, like what was the rationale behind the/ a particular design. For example it would have been great if Boltwire had a "boltwire-arch design wiki", it would have been an excellent source of knowledge, for both developers/advanced users.
Now i think rather than going for Joomla, a full-platform, i shall go to wordpress (i have used more or less evaluated, to the level of own in-expertise wordpress/joomla/dokuwiki/lionwiki ), as wordpress solves the basic purpose of blogging best. I am sure most of the members of this mailing list, would be running blogs, as suggestion which blog-cms to use. For wiki, i think boltwire is really nice, i mean i found the architecture/ systems layout quite thoughtful. But since it is a bit different, from rest, the learning curve is a little steep. What do you suggest a basic full CMS, which does a bit of both, or Wordpress and Boltwire. Have you tried LionWiki, it lacks features like Boltwire, but is quite quick and very light. I think boltwire is the best wiki, with features and un-bloated design. Flexibility or customization i have no clue, as i yet to explore it fully. The template/skin is very important, first i am trying to get that right with one i made for joomla. How evolved is the blog feature of Boltwire. regards Vivek Sharma.
