You are right. BoltWire's blog and forum and plugins are outdated. They need to be rewritten for sure.
In the mean time you might want to look at the wikiblog extension. It is a great idea. If I were doing a new blog today, I would probably do something along these lines. http://www.boltwire.com/index.php?p=solutions.community.wikiblog At some point we should rewrite the BoltWires blog/blog plugin, but that will have to wait awhile. Unfortunately it's a back burner project. What I really need is someone to take some of these plugins and maintain them. Volunteers?
