When I first came up with that, I was having a lot of spacing issues.  I
also had issues with CSS and what was controller what.  That has been
corrected in the newer version of the engine and a better understanding of
what does what.

I just changed it by moving the order around.

The top zone now has...

Might be better as a div now..

I suspect that I will eventually, move the "nav" box to under the edit links
(which you don't see if you are not logged in) so that it has full access
across the page.  Still thinking about navigation though.
