Don't give up. Have you talked with the people hosting your website? What did they say?
Also check all the .htaccess files on your server. It is possible this is being done in some default .htaccess file and you can change or delete it. I'm not an expert on server configuration--but I seem to have seen this somewhere. My solution when I get stuck is to go into some tech chat rooms on one of the main servers and pester people till I get an answer. If I find more time, I'll look into this myself. But it is definitely your charset encoding setting. I'm pretty sure. Cheers, Dan P.S. DrunkenMonk--He has that setting in his skin. Do you have the syntax for overriding this in the .htaccess.
