I finally broke down and got me a new ipod touch (my first). Been thinking about it for awhile, am really happy about it. Anyway, that decision was the impetus behind me developing a new plugin called mobile (in the skin section). This script detects most (not all) common mobile browsers and then switches to an alternate mobile skin if one is found (the skin is also included). I'd kind of like to move this into the core at some point, as it is quite cool. But thought we could test and try it as a plugin for awhile.
If you have a smartphone, please take a look at the BoltWire site if you get a chance and give me some feedback. I'm also using it on another site I run: www.fast.st, with an alternate mobile skin. Feedback welcome. I have only been able to try this using my nifty new ipod touch and it works great for that. But no clue how it will look on other systems and/or what phones it might miss (easy to add more). So please jot me a line. If you care to tinker with this on your own, give it a whirl at http://www.boltwire.com/index.php?p=solutions.skins.mobile. Full details are there concerning installation, special features, and so on of this plugin. Cheers, Dan P.S. I finally updated my sites to 3.3. Please holler if you notice any bugs anywhere around. I've been polishing little things here and there all day. Sure there is more... I'll be coming out with a new BoltWire release momentarily, as well. Mostly just a few patches. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "BoltWire" group. To post to this group, send email to [email protected].
