Just add mobile=false to the url and it turns it off. Can put
mobile=true to get the mobile skin on a non smartphone browser.  This
means you could easily have a [[{p}&mobile=true|Mobile]] link to
switch to mobile view if you wanted somewhere. Likewise a Mobile Off
link or whatever.

Lot's of possibilities.  Before we put this in the core, we can talk
more about the options of how it should look and navigation and all.
