If this is a bug in those players, better report it as such. The
mpg321 project appears to rest in peace, though.

You are right. Even mentioning it here is doing something, but I don't
know what Bongo should do about it. It is reasonable for a function to
accept only expanded file names, unless it is a higher-level function.
