I love those responses!
I wish movies and television portrayed more "real" sized women. It seems men can be all shapes and sizes and all kinds of ugly, but women are all Hollywood beautiful. I guess the people who make the casting decisions only want to cast women they KNOW will be physically appealing to the audience, but I wish they would grow some balls and cast women with normal bodies instead. BTW, this post reminded me of a very cute thing my son started doing lately. He uses the word "flat" instead of "fat". For instance, he says "Why is our cat so flat, Mommy? She's such a flat cat!" or he says "That flat kid at the park was being mean to me." I just thought it was kind of funny. :) /gina BCID: Saoirse N. Texas, USA -------Original Message------- Considering my size it is perhaps remarkable that I don't get asked more often if I'm pregnant. When I do however, I generally opt to answer "No, I'm sorry, I'm not pregnant but I *am* enjoying trying to not conceive as much as possible." Or "The baby will probably arrive around 2010 with any luck." I have had a few people, sometimes children, sometimes not, look at me and say "you're fat." If a child says it I will often reply something along the lines of "yes I am. and you aren't (assuming they aren't of course). and that's okay because it takes a lot of different kinds of people to live in this world otherwise it would get boring." If an adult or "older" child (who should know better) tells me that I will look down, gasp in shock, and say "oh my god! when did *that* happen?! I was thin when I left my house this morning!" It seems to confuse them. KaeLee BCSN: Soraidh StL, MO [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] ------------------------ Yahoo!
