You are very brave Miriam. When my son was in college,
they read one
of the books and he told me NOT to read it. And, I
took his advice.
I'm afraid that it would linger too long with me, not
that my head is
in the sand mind you! >>>>

Linda, the fact he survives and goes on to lead a
fulfilling life is what helped me cope with the facts
about his abuse. It gave me hope that people CAN
survive if they are helped and can earn to forgive or
move on. I am just starting to read the third book
where he outlines his adult life and I have been told
there are 2 more books that he's written to help other
abuse victims and those who want to help. The first
books is not 'pretty' but the fact I knew he survived
gave me hope and helped me 'put aside' the horror and
read on, because I wanted to hear about the 'better
ending', even though it would never be a story with a
'good ending' as such.
