That is so amazing that you were born in Niles!!!! It really is a small world! Niles
is a teensy tiny little speck on the map! :o) I am just really excited to hear that
you even know where it is...LOL

re: the library issue. It is sad, but makes sense. I really dont need to go to the
library...I own one. :o) But, I would like to get involved and have it for books that
I cant find. At the time I wanted to get audio books to listen to when i am at work.
But, the Niles Library didnt have much of a selection. I had already listened to what
they had and I was interested in. I just think that because I pay local taxes to the
county, because I work there....I shouldnt have to pay the 120 dollars to get a
library card. I think that I am going to look into the issue though. Maybe because I
pay taxes, they wont make me pay for the card. I dont know.

Ach! Small world! I was born in Niles and still have family in that area. I have
heard of things like this though, just this past spring my local library (which is a
fantastic and beautiful library) proposed charging for cards for people who do not
live in my county. It had to do with funding and the fact that this library cost
taxpayers loads of money to build and maintain, but people who were not paying those
taxes were reaping many of the benefits. I can see where they are coming from... but
all booklovers know how great the library is because it's free and chock full of
books. My library decided against this plan for now, but I'm sure it will be
revisited.
