I actually heard of this book (and read it and its sequel) *because* of the movie, so maybe it's not such a bad thing after all. I like to read the book before I see the movie, so often movies bring good books to my attention that I otherwise might've missed. I tend to think that most kids who say they will watch the movie instead of reading the book are kids who wouldn't read the book anyway, even if there wasn't a movie. So maybe movies cause more good than harm in the book world. But maybe I'm wrong, what do you think?

Is it just me, or are more books being adapted for the silver screen? I hate to think about how many kids have adapted the attitude: [casual shrug] I'll just see the movie. > > Jena ------------------------ Yahoo!
