I think it is a great idea. I fell in love with Haiti many years ago and they are is desperate need. I have no idea how to set up a charity but I'd be happy to contribute my dollar. > As many of you will have guessed from my mails, I am a bit of a bleeding heart liberal. I have for the past year or so been mulling over an idea of starting a charity and as yet have not put anything concrete into action, but now I have to start doing something. > > The idea behind this charity is because so many disasters (natural and man-made) happen in places where those of us lucky to live in deveolped secure countries go on holiday. Eg Dominican Republic, Bali, India, South America the list goes on and on. My idea was to encourage people who have enjoyed the hospitality of a country that has since suffered a disaster to donate 1 unit of their local currency (1 pound, 1 dollar, 1 euro whatever) to go to helping the folk in that country. > > My questions to you guys are: > > Any reading suggestions on the setting up of a charity > > Anybody have experience and can advise me on the dangers, pitfalls and also positive experiences > > Thirdly DO YOU THINK IT IS A GOOD IDEA??? > > Any feedback is appreciated. > > Marko. > > > Marko J.
