Yes, certainly. All you have to do is fill in the book's title, 
author, and category yourself. [Some people like to search the 
Amazon.com database for a more current edition of the same title, so 
that they can use that ISBN to get a cover picture to display on the 
bookshelf, but this isn't necessary.]

Just a note about the ISBN-lookup: there's a bug that's been causing 
some problems on the site - odd-looking text in the book title, 
sometimes an inability to complete the registration process or to 
make release notes on that book, etc; see this forum post for more 
details ( http://www.bookcrossing.com/forum/9/1246405 ). A fix is 
being tested on the beta site, but until it goes live I've been 
recommending that people not use the ISBN "lookup" button at all; 
instead, just fill in all the fields (including the ISBN number if 
you like) manually, and hit "register" or "save".
