It's a bug (rapidly becoming infamous) in the ISBN-lookup process from the Amazon database; here's a forum post with (probably) more than you ever want to know about it: http://www.bookcrossing.com/forum/9/1246405/28/subj_-BC-Support-info- re-corrupt-book-details,-can-cause-release-problems A fix is in the works, but the sad loss of Dan set a lot of site work back, so I don't know when that fix will go live. In the meantime, if you enter the book info manually and avoid the "lookup" button you'll avoid the problem; or if you try the lookup and hand-edit the title field whenever it shows up with extra info, you might be able to prevent the problem (though sometimes the book-details screen itself gets mangled).
