** LOL. Before finding Bookcrossing, my DH told me I
needed to stop spending so much money on books
(meaning, I had to stop ordering so many books from
the mail-order catalogues - Doubleday, etc). I agreed.
We really didn't have the money for it, anyway.
Then I joined Bookcrossing. Now my DH rolls his eyes
at me and says, "you stopped buying books from the
clubs, but you've just found another way to spend
money on books!" LOL
It's true, too! But, I also agree with you, Susan!
I've read/been introduced to authors I'd never have
tried if not for Bookcrossing, and I'm always, ALWAYS
spreading the word! I've put up flyers about BXing in
my local grocery store, and I TRIED to put one up in
the library (they said 'no', for whatever reason.
>:-/)
I spend a ton on postage (Canadian is awful compared
to US!) and on mailing packets and on printer ink (for
stickers/labels), and things like that.
One good thing, though, is that all the "impulse buys"
I get from my library sales are now going to good
homes instead of sitting here collecting dust!
Usually, at those sales, I get about 15 books I
*really* want, and 15 that I probably could've done
without. :?
Thank the Lord for Bookcrossing, is all I can say! ;)
