My favorite so far is "My Sister's Keeper" by Jodi Picoult. I loved the story
and the ethical considerations it brought up.

Subject: [BookCrossing] Favorite read this year

We are in the 10th week of the year and I was
wondering what everyone's favorite book has been so
  far this year?
Mine would have to be The Secret Life of Bees by Sue
Monk Kidd. I love the relationship between Lily and
Rosaleen and their relationship with the "calendar
sisters." I could never be a beekeeper though. Deathly
allergic to the little buggers. The story flowed and I
  read it quickly.
  What's your favorite?
