I can only speak from my personal experience, but when
I was new to bookcrossing, I didn't ever write journal
entries until I had finished reading the book.  And,
given the size of my TBR pile, that could be weeks to
years.
I've since changed my ways and journal when I receive
a book, sometimes while I'm reading, and always after
I'm done, but everyone's got their own way of doing
things.

Chances are, the folks who took your books are just
waiting until they've read the books and have
something more substantive to say about them.
