...for those of us who use BookCrossing as a one-stop shop for all our
bibliophilic needs? It would be so cool if we could just make a journal entry
for a library book or that bestseller we borrowed from a friend without
generating a BCID number for it, and I, for one, would really love the freedom
of it. I don't want to go to another site for journal entries. I have ADD and
am totally scatterbrained to the point that it's miraculous that I remember to
come to BookCrossing. I like the idea that BookCrossing can be everything to
me, and that it's always been flexible enough to accomodate so many wishes and
wants.

Honestly, I'm so surprised that it never occurred to me to ask for this before.
It wouldn't have occurred to me now if someone hadn't mentioned it in the
Forum. The lightbulb went on over my head and I realized how cool it would be
to defuse an issue that periodically becomes very heated. I really, really
want to be a good BookCrosser. Having a new way to journal books that doesn't
involve generating a BCID would be wonderful because people would not feel
pressed to register their permanent collections, others would be able to
continue to build their cybershelves without artificially generating numbers,
and BookCrossers could find something new to bicker about. It's a win-win
solution!

What do you think? Can it be done without too much trouble? Thanks so much
for considering this idea!
