Just want to share:

Last Tuesday 11.5.2005 we celebrated "Book and Rose Day" here in
Finland. The celebration originates from Worldbookday, that is
celebrated in Europe usually on the 23rd of April, but since the
weather is better during May here in Finland, we have change the date.

The local BC groups in at least three cities here in Finland
celebrated the day. In Helsinki they had a BC table at an event in the
central of the capital. On the table books was released, traded and
information about Bookcrossing. In Tampere they released books, and
also in my city (Turku) we wild released books. In all we released
about 50 books, and we have had so far several catches and new members
joining.

The news paper Turun Sanomat join us, when we in a group went to wild
release books. Here is a link to the article in the paper:

The article is written with humour. It says in short: "No, there
wasn't a international conference for absent-minded professors,
although you might have found one or two forgotten books laying on a
bench or on a coffee table. The bookcrossers in Turku organized a mass
wild release on The Book and Rose Day..." And then they explain about
bookcrossing and what to do if you catch a BC-book.
