I think we just had this discussion last month and the consensus is that
there are plenty of non-fiction lovers on bookcrossing.  But often they
also like fiction and a lot of other things so it may not seem like
there are many.  
 
In fact on BC forum we were invited to join an all non-fiction
discussion list that may be of interest.  I joined and I think  few
others did too.  As for flower books etc.  with it being spring here in
the northern hemisphere seems like a perfect time for them.  I know
gardening and flower books, as well as other types of how-to and self
help go pretty well at my OBCZ (Official Book Crossing Zone) and I've
had biographies journaled from wild releases too.  BookCrossing is for
any kind of books, but since there are way more fiction books you will
probably see more of them.
