I put this on the OBCZ managers on forum but I thought this group might
be interested too, and even if you aren't it put me back in a good mood
so I'll share it.

My zone is at Stone Soup Market here in State College and the owners,
Amy and Sally have always been very much behind the project, finding me
a full size bookcase to put my books on, putting up signs and mentioning
bookcrossing in their weekly newsletter. But I just got this journal
entry for a book I put out:

"my first BookCrossing, captured at Stone Soup on the same day it was
released thanks, Amy, for leading me to this awesome concept; I saw
quite a few of my favorites on the shelf"

So, it looks like Amy and Sally will actually take the time to show
someone the bookcase and probably explain what is going on. In my
opinion this goes way beyond the call of duty on their part and I am
forever in their debt.

This also couldn't come at a better time for me. As some of you know
managing a bookshelf can be a lot of work. It's work I enjoy for the
most part (or I wouldn't be doing it) but there has only been about 1
book a day going from the shelf and I have lots of good title out. Ones
that I know I could post on wishlist or relay and have snapped up in a
second. It was beginning to make me feel like I was just wasting my
time doing all this when no one seemed to be interested in it but me.
And then this posting comes along today and now I'm pumped again. It is
very special how a single journal entry from a single person can make it
seem like such a worthwhile project.

BTW, this person chose to do the entry as an anonymous entry. I changed
all my labels to stress this feature of BookCrossing (actually I think
it was after someone else posted on forum that they had done that and
seen journaling pick up) and I am quite convinced that I have seen more
entries because of that. Some of the anonymous people do go on to join
but I think it helps that they feel they can participate for awhile
before making a decision. I would recommend to everyone to consider
stressing this feature.
