I appreciate the info, always better to be informed, but having said that I have to agree with the others. I don't think that gmail is any better or worse than many of the other services. As far as spam, I get much, much less through gmail than with my other e-mail provider. I use it through Outlook so I never even see their ads and as far as my e-mails being subpoenaed, I can honestly say that my life is not all *that* interesting-LOL. Personally, I always assume that anything I put out on the web can be seen or read by someone with enough know how but like I said, I have nothing to hide so let them have at it.
