That was actually me who made the remark about books not getting recorded (Jeannette in Manchester, NH -- angevine on Bookcrossing.com), and all I can say is that Windham is obviously a better venue than Manchester! (Hmm... husband works in Windham... maybe should pay him a visit!)
I've done bus stops, park benches, a bench outside a popular eatery, and cafes. Again, I'm okay with it on one level. People are clearly reading the books (except for the wonderful Kingsolver "Prodigal Summer" - in hardcover, no less - that still languishes at the Gala Cafe) and that's rather more the point.
