Yes and yes - sort of. That is, you can find some discussion of wish 
lists and trading in the BookCrossing forums, but trading is an 
optional activity that a small-but-active subset of members 
participate in, and there are spin-off sites created by BCers to help 
interested parties create wish lists, share books via the relay site 
in a "pay it forward" way, and other things. If you're interested in 
those activities, check out TexasWren's site and its BookCrossing FAQ 
( http://www.texaswren.com ); she mentions many of these auxiliary 
activities and the ways one can get involved.

I've wild-released a lot more books than I've traded, but I do enjoy 
sharing special books with interested BCers via trades or book rings; 
there are lots of ways to enjoy the site and pass your books along.
