How interesting! Laura Ruby is a Chicago writer and a good friend of mine. I actually helped her edit her first draft and you'll see my name in the acknowledgements. Her next children's book, THE WALL AND THE WING, will be released this year. I'm sure Laura will be happy to know that someone is reading her book in St. Louis. I sent her this little snippet. I'm not sure she knows what Book Crossing is, but it's a wonderful way for new authors to be discovered.
