Hi everyone, I am new to BookCrossing. I just signed up Feb. 15th. I have been registering and releasing books and enjoying it like crazy. Does anyone know ISBN info or where to get it? Registering books has gotten me curious. Like when did they start? Definitely many older books do not have ISBNs on them at all. And then there seems to be an overlap where some books got them and some didn't. Most self published books now even seem to have them though. And what about those books that have an ISDN but no matter how many times I double check, the info for the book is not available? What's up with that? And also some books have the wrong ISDN outside, but the correct one inside. Is there something bogus about the publication of those books or were the publishers just too lazy to go back and correct the ISDN on the cover? And a few times I found the ISDN different but wrong on both the outside and the inside of the book. One time I had a hunch and changed the first number and it turned out correct!
I don't get to read as much as I would like because I have a full time daygig and do music on the side, plus, you know, peops like family, friends, boyfriend, etc. However, I do still read! In Feb, all I got finished with was Persepholis 1 & 2, the biographic graphic novels by Marjane Satrapi <http://www.powells.com/authors/satrapi.html> . I have started 3 books but not finished any of them: Infinite Jest by David Foster Wallace, Sweet Scars of Paradise (Janis Joplin bio) by Alice Echols and The Moon and the Sun by Vonda McIntyre. I have had a fun time started in with trading and RABCKs as well as releasing around town. I am participating in the Race to 3 million (registering) even though I know I won't win... it's fun and I would like to have a complete inventory of all my books! I don't really get how to do book Relays yet, but I am sure the understanding will dawn as I hang out and read more..!
