OK Guys and Girls. I have an idea and please feel free to either ignore or tell
me I’m stupid if you disagree or don’t like it.

As some of you are aware myself and another BCer (Colombine) are tying the
knot in May in Madrid. We didn’t meet via BC but are both enthusiastic members.
Anyway, we are trying to put together things that we can give as gifts to our
guests and want to make as many of the gifts, things that are personal or
important to us.

These are call follies or fancies or something. Well so far we have got
chocolates from our time in Belgium, lavender thingies for our love of
Provence, potted herbs as we are both unapologetic foodies, cigars for the boys
and fans for the girls (the Spanish influence) etc etc.

Now I would love to somehow represent reading and Bookcrossing. I cannot just
go out and buy 50 odd books and register them all completely take over my book
shelf, cost too much, take an age and doesn’t really represent what
Bookcrossing is about as the receiver would just type in the number and see a
quick “Bought as a gift for the wedding”. So I was wondering…. And here’s the
part where you go “Cheeky Basket”…..

If you have a spare little book on friendship, love, food…. Whatever and
would be willing to register it and post it, I could use it as an example of
how great the whole BC concept is. I am going to dig through my collection and
see what I have available to use but I know I do not have enough.

The books can be in English or Spanish. And after the wedding I will try to
send everyone who helped out a little token of my appreciation.

An example of one of mine is this:

Sent by the wonderful Judio as a pressie at the turn of the year.

If you think the idea is stupid or exploitive or just wrong, please let me
know.

If you think the idea is OK but think I am tackling it in the wrong way,
again please let me know.

  Many thanks and best wishes,

  Marko.
