Re: I don't have one I'm willing to give up (my son is going through a similar fascination), but for Christmas, I got my son a book called Egyptology--it was about $20 at Waldenbooks, but it's the kind of book you'll want to keep for a long time because it's really fascinating. (They also have similar books about fairies, dragons, and wizards--we have all four.)
