Not sure what you mean, Jessica. If you're talking about
Yahoo/BookCrossing groups, see the previous replies to your earlier
message - basically, (a) those aren't BookCrossing-group topics and
(b) you can start groups yourself if you want them. If you're talking
about forums on the BookCrossing site, anything that doesn't fit
anywhere else goes in Chit-Chat.

If you're talking about book *categories* on the BookCrossing site,
it's a bit of a sore point; there's only one category per book in the
database at present, which means there's no easy way to categorize
books with more than one keyword, so even if the existing list were
expanded it might not help very much. This doesn't stop people from
requesting more categories, but I don't think any new ones have been
added in quite some time, as it's a pretty low-priority item and the
only people with database access are way too busy just keeping the
site going.

As it is, there's a Women's Fiction category that you could use for
some of the subjects you propose [though many of us would happily do
away with that category altogether as it's so bloody hard to define
(and because there isn't a matching Men's Fiction!); just put 'em all
in Fiction, say I]. There's a Teens category that does for the
adolescent-aimed books, and a Parenting and Families category that
would do for "Mothering" as well as "Fathering". Any non-fiction that
doesn't have a specific category can go under "Nonfiction" and any
fiction that doesn't have a specific category can go under "Literature
and Fiction".

If you just want to know why the list isn't longer, I'm afraid the
answer is pretty much "just because".
