Re: dog insurance information requested by kyoko.monk. I have insured three dogs over the past 17 years. The first two were with pet plan, who were good, paid up as required, but more expensive than the PDSA fund I now insure my springer with. The plans vary between, and within insurance companies. PDSA insures a set amount per condition per life-time - this is OK unless, God forbid, the dog develops something like diabetes. Petpan had a policy where you could claim up to a fised amount per condition per year. I don't know if that still operates. Putting money away in lieu of insurance is OK if you have lots of self discipine (unlike me!)but be warned that one of my cats needed surgery for a broken leg, which totalled 1750.00 GBS, and o past dog swallowd some tennis ball, costing over 2000.00GBS in vets bills. Have fun with the new puppy !!! manda @ maddog
