G'dday.

Some random book-thoughts.

How many of us sign things on the Internet every day? I mean, I belong to
about twenty e-mail communities that are subject-specific, and if I post one
reply to them I post dozens a day. Every message, I sign with just my name.
But what if I signed my name and then on the next line, the bookcrossing
URL? Think of the publicity! And every time you go to a website if they ask
for a profile or introduction, bookcrossing can be mentioned.

Also, I've hunted around the site for people, locations etc and found it all
very interesting. but there seems to be one search engine that is
conspicuous by its absence.

I registered a book for release and found out that it must have been
released before, because a photo of its cover came up on screen. So I *know*
it's been bookcrossed. Yet, no matter how I looked, I couldn't find a link
to search for numbers of copies of a given title that have been released, or
numbers of a given title that have been registered. It would also be
interesting, if that is ever initiated, to find out the original location
each copy was released in. And maybe if a copy of a book has made it across
- say - three national or state boundaries, could that book officially be
given book-wings as a well-travelled book?
