its a frightening long way
but its better than being flabby and forty, for me anyway

          Kim,

Congrats! I know that 64 laps/one mile is a very long swim in less then an
hour! I've done it, but barely.

Could I do it now, since I stopped swimming? I don't think so. But hopefully
I'll be getting back into more swimming soon and get myself back into better
shape.

Great excercise, isn't it?

Subject: [BookCrossing] watery releases

In May last year I realised I was 18 months off forty. I decided that if I
wanted to be healthy and fit at forty I needed to start immediately.
I joined a gym and set myself goals. The first is to be reached next
weekend.

The first day I swam i managed 8 lengths of the pool, stopping after every
one to catch my breath.
On Saturday I will be swimming the Midmar Mile. For non-South Africans,
this is a mile long swim across a dam. 1 mile is 64 of the swimming pool
lengths I managed 8 of 9 months ago! 1 600 metres! And all in under an hour!

To celebrate my attempt I plan to relase watery themed books over the next
two weeks.
Join me in celebrate the wonderfulness of approaching 40, of being able to
be fit and healthy and the joy of reading.
