Two hours!?!? WOW. Well, maybe people are being really polite and thinking
someone will come back for it. Did it have the yellow sticker on the cover
which
says: FREE book?

normally I have the opposite problem.
People run after me saying I've forgotten the book and I have a real hard
time explaining to them they can have it if they want.
The other day I met with 2 austrian bookcrossers in lisbon and they had
released a book at the terrace of a very busy café and it stayed there for 2
hours until I found it.
Ther is a sculpture there of a portuguese poet taking a coffee at a table
and they had put the book on that table.
As it is a very common meeting place,it is amazing nobody took it.
