I finished this book last night and think it deserves a wider read. It
is about the various types of prion diseases, in particular a little
known one named Fatal Familial Insomnia and an Italian family that has
struggled with it for hundreds of years. Along the way the author also
discusses scrapie, Chronic Wasting Disease, CJD,(I just can't spell that
one) vCjd and the most well know BSE (Mad Cow disease to most of the
public). This is a general audience book and not at all technical. Well,
at least I didn't think so, but then I am a Med Tech so I may not be the
best judge. Anyway, it's very interesting, a little bit scary, though
the author is not a scare monger at all, and not a big scholarly tome.

Anyone that is interested, PM with location and shipping preference.

Susan
