Jen,
Welcome to Bookcrossing! It is so many things to different people. I have
friends who are in it for the releasing - specifically the challenges. I used
to do a lot of trading. Nowadays, I'm so involved in different reading groups
that I don't have a lot of time for trading. Most importantly, Bookcrossing
has broadened my reading horizons. I have picked up books that I never would
have thought of reading because of someone's recommendation.

Abyhow, I'm sure you'll like what you find in BC. Welcome!

Susan K.

Subject: [BookCrossing] Hello

I just wanted to say hello to the group and introduce myself. I'm Jen
and I just joined Book Crossing. I haven't registered any books yet
and I'm looking forward to getting started, but I have to get back to
working on my NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) Novel. Finding
about Book Crossing was the perfect procrastination from my NaNo goal.

I love reading everything and most anything (Mystery, Fiction, Non-
Fiction, Science Fiction, Teen (even though I'm far from that age
group), History...I think you get the point). Lately, I've been
finding books from my past. I stumbled upon a couple sci-fi books that
I had been trying to find for over a decade (The Gandalara Cycle -
Randall Garrett and Vicki Ann Hedron), it doesn't help when you can't
remember the author's names and the name of the book. I can't wait to
start rereading them, but of course, I need to wait till November is
over (again with procrastinating from NaNo).

Things that reading now: Fair Game - Valerie Plame, *A Short History
of Nearly Everything - Bill Bryson, The Gandalara Cycle I - Randall
 Garrett and Vicki Ann Hedron

Things I'll soon add to Book Crossing: Blowing My Cover - My Life as a
CIA Spy - Lindsay Moran, Another Fine Myth - Robert Asprin, Briar Rose -
 Jane Yolen.

I look forward to this new Book Crossing adventure.

 Cheers,

 Jen
